"The Museum of Narrow Places: Limitation Breeds Possibility"

Amii LeGendre
Narrow Places is a site-specific, immersive dance theatre project co-directed by Amii LeGendre & Carey McKinley Foster. Part treasure hunt, part performance, and part gallery, the artists take spectators on an adventure where they interact, witness and engage with the art. It dynamically blends theatre with movement, image and narrative into a compelling adventure.
“a magical evening…I had the feeling that every corner of art held a gift for me and me alone.”
LeGendre & Foster work with people from the community to create the work in and for a specific site - a gallery and its surrounding spaces. We work not only with the performers, musicians and artists from the community but also the grocer, the banker and the father. The work revolves around questions that all people relate to in their lives, but their answers are manipulated, developed, and abstracted. Humor, poetics, and storytelling are utilized to create meaningful works - sometimes uproariously funny, other times tragic and beautiful.
"...the most entertaining, artistic, humorous and emotional ride for me as an audience member.”
