Space, Time, Resources Needed
SPACE: a large gallery space or open lobby as the "main space." In addition, we create works in a dozen or more smaller "sites" that are <1 minute walk from the main space. For these sites, we have worked with hallways, bathrooms, closets, stairwells, balconies, offices, elevators, parking lots, classrooms, etc. We will find sites in your building that you might not even consider. You will never see your space the same again.
TIME: Approximately 2 weeks to engage the community, and to create and perform the work. This includes 2 workshop days, 7 creative days, and 3 performance dates, flanked by a day to set up and a day to strike the show. During this time, we need access to the larger space and the sites described above.
RESOURCES: One of the principles behind our creative method is to work with what is at hand. Aside from basic lighting instruments, speakers for sound and a technical assistant to help us gather resources, we work with what is available and already in the space - re-envisioning how the space is used, and finding and utilizing objects, furniture and other items that may be overlooked by others. A basic list of equipment is on this tech rider.
